TRP Research had another fantastic year of fundraising where we raised over £2000 for Mind in 2017. Cricket was played, cakes were baked and raffles and quizzes were won. The new year brings a new Charity of the Year so before Christmas, everyone at TRP Research was invited to vote for a charity that they wished to support in the upcoming year. This year TRP Research will be supporting Children’s Hospice South West as our Charity of the Year 2018.
Children’s Hospice South West supports children with life-limiting conditions, and their families. The charity is committed to making the most of short and precious lives. The care offered at each of its hospices in Bristol, North Devon and St Austell, is not simply about medical and nursing care for sick children, but about enriching the lives of children and their families.
CHSW supports parents, brothers and sisters and the poorly child, from diagnosis towards bereavement and beyond. It aims to relieve the burden of caring for a sick child from families and allow them to spend precious time together focusing on just being a family. Its specialist teams walk alongside families, providing respite care, palliative and ultimately, end of life care for their child. Its work continues after bereavement for the whole family. The charity needs to raise almost £10million a year in order to run, and relies almost entirely on the support of the community to do this.
TRP Research hope to support CHSW in their aim to enrich the lives of these children and their families by raising money through a variety of fundraising events. From running to baking, to quizzing and abseiling, the fundraising opportunities are varied and exciting. TRP Research are looking forward to CHSW visiting our offices later this month.
